Monica and I are the angel and devil on Chuck Palahniuk's shoulders.  This was from a Doomed Bedtime Story we did at a roadhouse in Houston. 

UK author Tom Cain – my adopted brother – and I take a break from signing books at a store in Cambridge.  Tom is the author of The Accident Man and No Survivors, which are both heart-pounding super duper thrillers.   And I’m not just saying that being we’re related.

This is me at the Harrogate Crime Writing Festival in England with Val McDermid and Stuart MacBride.  Val is the author of the Tony Hill/Carol Jordan books (among others) and one of my thriller-writing heroes.  She is a huge influence.  I cannot overstate how much I love her books.  Stuart (a self-described “international crime write-ist”) is the author of Flesh House, among others thrillers.  He beat me out for the best breakthrough novel at the thriller awards in London, but I still love him.

Writing group comrade Diana Page Jordan and I hang out after she interviewed me for her satellite radio show.  My daughter calls this my Cinderella dress.
