American Librarian Association Midwinter
Lia Miternique and I will be at ALA Midwinter to promote vol 1 of MAN-EATERS (out March, 2019). We are bringing along two special guests. Fourteen-year-old, Emily Powell, known for her Dead Samurai Haikus, and fourteen-year-old, Eliza Fantastic Mohan, known for her MAN-EATERS #3 story "Phoenix," and her letters column from MAN-EATERS #4. The mission of MAN-EATERS was to tell a gripping story about female adolescence - and to frighten people with the word "tampon" - but mostly it was to tell something real (GIRLS TURN INTO PANTHERS WHEN THEY GET THEIR PERIODS. IT'S TIME YOU KNEW.) - in a space - comics! - where maybe 14 year old girls don't always feel represented. We are also bringing a panther. But just to the breakfast event. Don't worry. Librarians are some of the bravest people I know.
